Not a lot is known about the Seaweed cannabis strain. Legend has it that the Seaweed strain was developed in a southern Oregon cannabis seed lab, however, this has never been verified by any credible source. What is known about Seaweed hybrid is that it leans heavy into the sativa spectrum and it has a fairly potent THC percentage. The smell of this bud is very lemony or citrus heavy, with faint undertones of earthy pine, herbs, and spices. Anyone involved in the creative arts, whether it be for business or pleasure, will absolutely adore this strain. After just a couple of hits, you’ll be awash in an ocean of creative energy, even if you are not particularly creative to begin with. The secondary effects are typically calmness and blissful euphoria.
The Seaweed hybrid strain clearly got its name from the aesthetic nature of the buds, as they look a bit stringy and thin like West Coast seaweed. The plant, being a sativa dominant hybrid, grows tall and thin with bushiness here and there. The Seaweed weed strain buds are typically small and dense, with small cannabis leaves entangling themselves into the bud. The dense small buds are known to burn extremely smooth and clean, leaving you with a refreshing feeling that is only further complimented by the tangy lemony flavor. The strain grows well indoors and will flower in approximately 9-11 weeks, depending on the specific growing conditions and what sort of light is used.
As mentioned above, this is arguably one of the best weed strains for creativity. If you are a painter, work in a creative arts field, or do any other form of artistic work, then you could end up hooked on this lovely strain. The creative energy that the bud generates is accented by a strong calming effect and a peaceful state of euphoria. Due to the fact that the THC level is quite high, the strain will keep you high for a lengthy amount of time. The next time you are in the mood for a creative and productive state of mind, grab ahold of some seaweed, an empty canvas, and let the creative serenity wash over you.
This strain can also be used as medicinal marijuana. It is known to help combat fatigue, lethargy, depression, and light to moderate anxiety. It can even work against chronic pain, especially arthritis, lower back pain, and headaches.
Sample submitted: “Seaweed” cannabis flowers hybrid.
Moisture Content: 4.5%
Activated vs non-activated: activated cannabinoids are non-acidic (neutral) and are the form utilized by the human brain/ body. Activation occurs via heating (smoking, vaporizing, cooking). Cannabinoids in the natural plant are acidic (non-activated) and need to be converted to their neutral form in order to be utilized by the human body. Therefore one would expect fresh cannabis buds to contain mainly non-activated cannabinoids. Processed materials (baked goods, heated extracts) should be higher in the activated forms.
Absent Cannabinoids: if a cannabinoid or terpene is blank, it is not necessarily absent but below the limit of detection by the detector (usually less than 0.01%).
Cannabis Potency Summary Table:
Three tests of each sample were analysed and summarised below:
% by weight
THC-Acid (not activated)
*THC total (THC-Acid THC)
CBD-Acid (not activated)
*CBD total (CBD-Acid CBD)
CBG-Acid (not activated)
*CBG total (CBG-Acid CBG)
Activated Cannabinoid Total:
•when reporting totals, acidic cannabinoids are multiplied by 0.877 to account for loss of mass from decarboxylation upon heating (activating)
